With conventional staining solutions, the entire gel becomes stained during protein visualization, necessitating a thorough destaining step to remove background staining. In contrast, using Li’s Coomassie stain, which exhibits high specificity for proteins and does not stain the gel matrix, eliminates the need for additional destaining.
