The Animal Experiment Department of HeYuan Bio was established in 2014. It operates a state-of-the-art small-animal SPF‑grade animal facility and is governed by an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The department holds the “License for the Use of Laboratory Animals” (SYXK [Shanghai] No. 2017‑0003) for SPF‑grade rats and mice, issued by the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. The SPF area covers 350 m² and can accommodate over 5,000 rats and mice simultaneously, supporting approximately 50–100 batches of animal experimentation projects per year. Within the barrier system, all facilities are equipped with independent ventilated cages (IVC) and an automated differential pressure control system, along with real-time temperature and humidity monitoring. Separate, unidirectional flow paths for personnel, animals, and materials further ensure strict environmental integrity within the barrier.
All experimental personnel in the Animal Experimentation Department of HeYuan Bio have undergone rigorous training and hold the appropriate certification for their respective roles. In addition, the animal facility is staffed with dedicated management professionals who rigorously ensure the cleanliness of the barrier environment and maintain stringent quality control over the animals.
Currently, HeYuan Bio offers end-to-end services encompassing rodent and mouse breeding and genotyping, animal model generation—including models of cancer, neurological disorders, and metabolic diseases—pharmacological and pharmacodynamic evaluations, as well as behavioral and pathological analyses, thereby providing a robust research platform for elucidating disease mechanisms and advancing new drug development.
