Do you need to change the medium after transfection with a transfection reagent?
Regarding fluid replacement, two scenarios can be distinguished:
1. If the medium has not been changed prior to transfection, it should be replaced approximately 6–8 hours after transfection to ensure adequate nutrients for cell growth.
2. If you perform media changes prior to transfection, you can follow your usual protocol and change the medium only when it shows signs of nutrient depletion. The transfection reagent itself is non‑toxic.
