Product Overview
PBS Buffer (Powder)
Balanced Salt Solution (BSS) maintains environmental conditions—such as pH and osmotic pressure—that are consistent with those under normal cell growth. It helps sustain osmotic balance, regulate acid–base homeostasis, and provide the energy and essential inorganic ions required for cellular survival and metabolism, thereby meeting the basic needs of cells in in vitro experiments to remain viable and maintain a certain level of metabolic activity.
PBS (phosphate-buffered saline) is a phosphate‑buffered solution that provides a relatively stable ionic environment and pH‑buffering capacity, making it a commonly used buffer in biological research. With a pH of 7.2–7.4, its main components are disodium hydrogen phosphate and sodium dihydrogen phosphate; it contains no Ca²⁺ or Mg²⁺ ions and is frequently employed in molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry, and other routine applications. For sterile preparations, filtration through a 0.22 µm filter is recommended to remove microorganisms.
This product is supplied in powder form and can be directly dissolved in deionized water prior to use. After dilution, the pH is 7.2–7.4, making it easy to handle and convenient to use.
