How can the formation of precipitates in serum be prevented?
Publication date:2026-10-29
Page views:
First, be sure to follow the correct serum thawing procedure, and during dissolution, gently and evenly shake the serum at regular intervals. We have observed that precipitate may increase under the following conditions, which should be avoided as much as possible:
(1) Heat‑inactivating the serum;
(2) Incubating the serum at 37°C;
(3) Subjecting it to repeated freeze–thaw cycles;
(4) Irradiating it with gamma rays;
(5) Storing it long-term at 2–8°C;
(6) Leaving it at room temperature for an extended period.
