How often should the culture medium be changed—every few days?

Under normal conditions, the culture medium appears slightly reddish. If the cells are maintained at a pH of 6.5–6.6 and the medium turns yellow, this indicates that metabolic byproducts have accumulated to a certain level, leading to cell detachment and death; fresh medium should then be replaced. Typically, when cells are growing vigorously, the medium is changed every 1–2 days; during periods of slower growth, changes can be made every 3–4 days.
