Is there a difference between using skim milk powder and BSA for blocking?
Publication date:2026-10-29
Page views:
In general, BSA yields clearer results because it contains fewer proteins, reducing the likelihood of antibody cross‑reactivity. However, this is not always the case; some antibodies perform better when blocked with nonfat dry milk, as the latter contains a greater diversity of blocking proteins that can effectively mask a wider range of protein types.
