Product Description
DMEM/F-12 medium is an improved formulation created by mixing DMEM and Ham’s F-12 medium in a 1:1 ratio. This modified DMEM/F-12 medium boasts a richer nutrient profile and contains a broader array of trace elements, making it widely suitable for the culture of various mammalian cell types. It is also well‑suited for culturing mammalian cells under low‑serum conditions and for clonal density‑dependent cultures. Additionally, DMEM/F-12 serves as a foundational medium for developing serum‑free culture systems.
This product contains a variety of amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, and other components essential for cell culture; it does not contain proteins or growth factors and should be used with 5–10% serum or a serum‑free supplement, depending on the cell type.
