Product Description
DMEM/High Glucose, or DMEM (Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium) with high glucose, is an improved formulation based on MEM medium and is now widely used for the culture of various cell types. DMEM with high glucose is particularly suitable for rapidly growing cells with low adhesion. It can be employed to culture a wide range of primary mammalian cells, such as primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, and smooth muscle cells, and is also applicable to the cultivation of several cell lines, including HeLa, 293, COS‑7, and PC‑12.
This product contains a variety of amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, and other components essential for cell culture; it does not contain proteins or growth factors and should be used with 5–10% serum or a serum‑free supplement, depending on the cell type.
HEPES is an excellent biological buffer that exhibits no cytotoxicity, and culture media supplemented with HEPES can maintain a stable pH over extended periods.
