Product Description
Quick Cell PCR Mycoplasma Detection Kit. This kit employs a pair of mycoplasma-specific primers to amplify the genomic DNA of mycoplasmas in the sample, followed by detection of the PCR products via agarose gel electrophoresis. The kit also includes an internal control to verify that the PCR amplification is proceeding correctly.
This kit is a broad‑spectrum mycoplasma detection assay capable of identifying all more than 100 known mycoplasma species. It can be used to test any sample that may harbor mycoplasma, including supernatants from in vitro cell cultures, serum, various bodily fluids such as saliva, urine, and nasal secretions, as well as other liquid samples. Key advantages include 100% mycoplasma detection specificity, extremely high sensitivity, the inclusion of an internal control band to distinguish true‑negative from false‑negative results, and the fact that it does not require a costly real‑time quantitative PCR instrument.
After extensive testing, this kit has been shown to detect the 20 mycoplasma species previously reported in in vitro cell cultures; according to the literature, these species account for nearly 100% of the mycoplasma contaminating cultured cells. Specifically: (1) M. hyorhinis, (2) M. fermentans, (3) M. arginini, (4) M. hominis, (5) M. orale, (6) M. salivarium, (7) M. pirum, (8) A. laidlawii, (9) M. agalactiae, (10) M. bovis, (11) M. bovoculi, (12) A. axanthum, (13) M. buccale, (14) M. pneumoniae, (15) M. arthritidis, (16) M. pulmonis, (17) M. gallisepticum, (18) M. gallinarum, (19) M. canis, and (20) Ureaplasma urealyticum. (Note: “M.” stands for Mycoplasma; “A.” stands for Acholeplasma.)

[Note] : The following reagents must be prepared independently: ① Standard Taq DNA polymerase (Takara’s Ex Taq Hot Start version, catalog number RR006A, which already contains 2.5 mM dNTPs) and the corresponding buffer; ② 2.5 mM dNTPs; ③ DNA loading buffer (Li Ji Bio’s is recommended). GelRed Pre-stained DNA Loading Buffer (5X), Catalog No.: AN34L047 , this buffer already contains a non‑toxic nucleic acid dye, so there is no need to handle carcinogenic substances such as EB.
