Product Description
The Quick Cell Probe‑Based Mycoplasma Detection Kit employs mycoplasma‑specific primers and a mycoplasma‑specific fluorescent probe (with FAM as the reporter dye) to perform real‑time quantitative PCR amplification and detection of mycoplasma genomic DNA in samples. The kit also includes an internal control plasmid, mycoIC2, along with its corresponding primers and fluorescent probe (with VIC as the reporter dye), enabling monitoring of the efficiency of mycoplasma DNA extraction and qPCR amplification. This kit is suitable for detecting mycoplasma in a wide range of sample types, including supernatants from in vitro cell cultures, serum, various body fluids (such as saliva, urine, and nasal secretions), and other liquid specimens.
After extensive testing, this kit has been shown to detect the 20 mycoplasma species previously reported in in vitro cell cultures. According to the literature, these mycoplasmas account for nearly 100% of the mycoplasma contaminants found in cultured cells. Specifically, they include: (1) M. hyorhinis, (2) M. fermentans, (3) M. arginini, (4) M. hominis, (5) M. orale, (6) M. salivarium, (7) M. pirum, (8) A. laidlawii, (9) M. agalactiae, (10) M. bovis, (11) M. bovoculi, (12) A. axanthum, (13) M. buccale, (14) M. pneumoniae, (15) M. arthritidis, (16) M. pulmonis, (17) M. gallisepticum, (18) M. gallinarum, (19) M. canis, and (20) Ureaplasma urealyticum. (Here, “M.” stands for Mycoplasma, and “A.” stands for Acholeplasma.)

Note: ① This kit contains the internal control plasmid mycoIC2 (used to monitor the efficiency of mycoplasma DNA extraction and qPCR amplification). Customers may choose to perform mycoplasma DNA extraction from their samples (with the internal control plasmid mycoIC2 added during the extraction process), or they may opt not to extract mycoplasma DNA from the samples (in which case the internal control plasmid mycoIC2 is added directly to the reaction mix).
② The instrument compatible with this kit may be any fluorescence quantitative PCR instrument equipped with FAM and VIC detection channels.
