    Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) is a widely used basal medium that can support the growth of many types of mammalian cells. Cell types that have been successfully cultured in DMEM include primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, and smooth muscle cells, as well as cell lines such as HeLa, 293, Cos-7, and PC‑12.

    DMEM, or Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium, is an improved version of MEM. It is categorized into low-glucose and high-glucose formulations based on its glucose content. DMEM with low glucose is suitable for culturing cells with slow metabolic rates that are adherent-dependent. This product contains a variety of essential components required for cell culture, including amino acids, vitamins, and inorganic salts, but it does not contain proteins or growth factors; therefore, 5–10% serum or serum-free supplements should be added according to the specific cell type.
