Product Description
The Annexin V‑647/PI apoptosis assay kit provides a rapid and convenient method for assessing apoptotic levels by labeling early apoptotic cells (far red) and necrotic cells (red). The assay can be performed using a flow cytometer or other fluorescence‑based detection instruments.
Annexin V‑647 can label apoptotic cells. Annexin V selectively binds to phosphatidylserine (PS). During the early stages of apoptosis, PS translocates to the cell surface, exposing its outer leaflet. Annexin V labeled with the far-red fluorescent dye 647—Annexin V‑647—can bind to this externalized phosphatidylserine, thereby detecting a key hallmark of apoptosis. Compared with conventional fluoresceins, Li Ji Bio’s 647 dye exhibits higher fluorescence intensity, is insensitive to environmental pH, and demonstrates excellent photostability.
Propidium Iodide (PI) is a DNA-binding dye that stains the nuclei of necrotic cells or cells in the late stages of apoptosis, which have lost plasma membrane integrity. PI can be excited by lasers at 488, 532, or 546 nm and emits red fluorescence.
