    MCF7 [MCF-7] (Chinese name: human breast cancer cells) retains several differentiated mammary epithelial cell characteristics, including the ability to metabolize estradiol via cytoplasmic estrogen receptors and to form nuclear complexes. MCF7 [MCF-7] cells express the c‑myc oncogene; tumor necrosis factor‑α can inhibit the growth of MCF7 [MCF-7] cells, and treatment with antiestrogens modulates the secretion of IGFBPs.

    The cells exhibit a typical epithelial morphology and grow adherently. Species: Human; Cell type: Tumor cell; Tumor type: Breast cancer cell.
