Product Description
ARPE-19 (Chinese name: human retinal pigment epithelial cells) was established in 1986 by Amy Aotaki‑Keen using retinal tissue obtained from a healthy 19‑year‑old male who died in a car accident. This cell line expresses retinal pigment epithelium‑specific molecular markers, such as intracellular retinol‑binding protein and PRE‑65. The cells have been engineered to stably express the luciferase gene via lentiviral transduction. The cells exhibit a typical epithelial morphology and grow adherently. Species: Human; Cell source: Human retina.
