Product Description
WPMY-1 (Chinese name: Human Normal Prostatic Stromal Immortalized Cell Line) is a myofibroblastic stromal cell line. Like RWPE‑1 cells, WPMY‑1 cells are derived from stromal cells in the peripheral zone of the same adult prostate tissue section. These stromal cells were immortalized using an SV40 large T antigen–based retroviral vector. Similar to RWPE‑1 and other epithelial‑derived cell lines, WPMY‑1 belongs to a series of cell lines originating from the same prostate. Because WPMY‑1 and RWPE‑1 cells are both isolated from the peripheral zone of the same prostate, the WPMY‑1 cell line is particularly useful for studying secretion and the interactions between stromal and epithelial cells. According to the provider, they are derived from the same prostatic… The RWPE-1 cell line derived from the prostate gland tested negative for hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, and human immunodeficiency virus.
