Product Description
Trypsin, often referred to simply as pancreatic enzyme, is a serine protease that cleaves peptide bonds at the carboxyl side of lysine and arginine residues. During tissue cell isolation and culture, as well as in vitro cell culture, trypsin digestion solutions are routinely used to hydrolyze intercellular proteins, thereby dissociating tissues or cells into single cells. Trypsin exhibits its highest enzymatic activity at 37°C and pH 8.0. A commonly used working concentration of trypsin is 0.25%. EDTA chelates calcium and magnesium ions; when combined with trypsin, it accelerates the hydrolysis of intercellular adhesion proteins, enhancing the digestion process. Phenol red is a pH indicator: it appears purplish‑red under alkaline conditions, orange‑red under acidic conditions, and pink near neutral pH.
This product contains 0.25% trypsin, is dissolved in Hank’s buffer, includes 0.9 mM EDTA, and is free of phenol red indicator; it has been sterilized by filtration through a 0.22 μm membrane.
