Product Description
A-431 (Chinese name: human epidermal carcinoma cells) was derived from an 85-year-old female and is one of a series of cell lines established by D. J. Giard et al. A-431 cells form rapidly growing subcutaneous tumors resembling malignant melanoma in NIH Swiss mice treated with antithymocyte globulin and serum, and they also give rise to clones when cultured on ordinary fibroblasts and agar. A-431 is a hypertriploid human cell line.
The cells exhibit a typical epithelial morphology and grow adherently. Species: Human; Tissue source: Skin; Cell type: Tumor cell; Tumor type: Other tumor cell.
