NCI-H1299 (Chinese name: human non-small cell lung cancer cells) originates from a lymph node metastasis in a patient who received initial radiotherapy. NCI-H1299 cells exhibit a homozygous partial deletion of the p53 gene and lack p53 protein expression. These cells are capable of synthesizing 0.1 pmol per milligram of protein of NMB, but do not synthesize gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP).
The cells exhibit a typical epithelial morphology and grow adherently. Species: Human; Tissue source: Lung cancer—non‑small cell lung carcinoma; Metastatic site: Lymph node; Cell type: Tumor cells; Tumor type: Lung cancer cells.
