Product Description
HCT-116 (Chinese name: human colon cancer cells) is one of three malignant cell lines isolated in 1979 by M. Brattain and colleagues from a male patient with colon cancer. HCT-116 cells form colonies in semi-solid agarose culture medium; they are tumorigenic in athymic nude mice, giving rise to tumor nodules.
The cells exhibit a typical epithelial morphology and grow adherently. Species: Human; Tissue source: Colorectal; Tumor type: Colorectal cancer cell line.
