Product Description
K562 (Chinese name: human chronic myelogenous leukemia cells) was established by Lozzio through isolation from the pleural effusion of a 53-year-old female patient in the blast crisis phase of chronic myelogenous leukemia. Initially thought to originate from the granulocytic lineage and to be highly undifferentiated, subsequent studies on cell membrane characteristics by Anderson et al. classified these cells as an erythroleukemic cell line. K562 serves as a highly sensitive in vitro target for natural killer cells and is therefore widely used in research related to this immune response. The parental cells of K562 are malignant hematopoietic tumor cells with multipotent differentiation potential, capable of spontaneously differentiating into identifiable progenitor cells of the erythroid, granulocytic, and monocytic lineages. These cells express CD7. Under normal conditions, they exhibit a lymphoblastoid morphology and grow in suspension. Species: human; Cell type: tumor cell; Tumor type: leukemia cell.
