Product Description
BV2 (Chinese name: mouse microglial cells) was established by E. Blasi in 1990. These cells were immortalized by retroviral-mediated transfection of v-raf and v-myc into mouse microglial cells. BV2 cells retain many morphological, phenotypic, and functional characteristics of native microglia; immunohistochemical analysis shows that BV2 cells are positive for MAC1 and MAC2, while negative for MAC3, glial fibrillary acidic protein, and galactocerebroside. The typical cell morphology is epithelioid, with a mixed adherent–suspension growth pattern. Species: mouse; Cell type: transformed cell line; Tissue origin: brain, glioma.
