RAW 264.7 (Chinese name: mouse monocyte‑macrophage cells) typically exhibit a round or oval morphology, with a round or oval nucleus that stains deeply; they may also assume a rectangular shape with extending “pseudopodia,” or display spindle‑like or elongated spindle‑like forms. Under normal growth conditions, the cells are arranged in small clusters that remain unconnected; as they proliferate densely, they coalesce into larger patches and form layered structures, adhering to the substrate. Species: mouse; tissue origin: monocytes and macrophages derived from tumors induced by the Abelson murine leukemia virus.
