    3T3-L1 (Chinese name: mouse embryonic fibroblasts) is a continuously subcultured derivative of the 3T3 (Swiss albino mouse) cell line, obtained through clonal isolation. As 3T3-L1 cells transition from rapid proliferation to confluence and contact inhibition, they undergo adipogenic differentiation into adipocyte-like cells. In culture medium, a high serum concentration promotes lipid accumulation within 3T3-L1 cells. The typical cell morphology is fibroblast‑like, with adherent growth. Species: mouse; cell origin: embryonic; cell type: spontaneously immortalized.
