Product Description
TM4 (Chinese name: Sertoli cells from normal mouse testis) exhibits increased cAMP production in response to FSH but does not respond to LH. Compared with primary Sertoli cells, TM4 cells show reduced responsiveness to FSH. It has been reported that TM4 cells constitutively produce very low levels of plasminogen activator, which can be induced by FSH and markedly upregulated by retinoic acid. TM4 cells secrete retinol-binding protein, tissue plasminogen activator, and transferrin; they express FSH receptors, androgen receptors, and progesterone receptors; and they are negative for mousepox virus. The typical cell morphology is epithelial, with adherent growth. Species: mouse; Cell type: spontaneously immortalized; Tissue source: testis.
