    Neuro-2a [N2a; Neuro-2a] (Chinese name: mouse brain neuroblastoma cells) was established by R. J. Klebe and F. H. Ruddle from an autogenous tumor of strain A mice. Neuro-2a [N2a] cells produce abundant tubulin, a protein that functions as a contractile system in neuronal cells to mediate axoplasmic transport. The typical cell morphology is neuron‑like or amoeboid, and the cells grow adherently. Species: mouse; tissue origin: brain neuroblastoma, neuroblasts; cell type: tumor cells; tumor type: neuroblastoma.
