Product Description
MLE-12 (Chinese name: mouse lung epithelial cells) was established in 1992 by Kathryn A. Wikenheiser from lung tumors of SV40 large T‑antigen transgenic mice, under the control of the human surfactant protein C gene promoter. When implanted into nude mice, these cells give rise to tumors within 6 to 9 months. The cells express mRNA for the large T antigen and exhibit detectable levels of pulmonary surfactant proteins B and C. They secrete phospholipids in response to phorbol esters and ATP, but not to forskolin. The cells display a typical epithelial morphology and grow adherently. Species: mouse.
