    The Bradford protein assay is based on the formation of a blue complex when Coomassie Brilliant Blue G‑250 binds to proteins, resulting in a rapid and stable reaction. The colored complex exhibits maximum absorbance at 465–595 nm, and the intensity of the color is directly proportional to the protein concentration. Consequently, protein content can be quantified by measuring the absorbance at 595 nm.
