Product Description
Cyanine3 maleimide is an activated group used for labeling thiols and is analogous to Cy3 maleimide. It is commonly employed in fluorescent labeling of biomolecules, fluorescence‑based imaging, and other fluorescence‑based biochemical assays. This dye can label soluble proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, and DNA. For more sensitive proteins, water‑soluble sulfo‑Cyanine3 maleimide may be preferred, as it requires no co‑solvents.
Upon conjugation with biomolecules, Cyanine 3 exhibits enhanced fluorescence. Maleimide‑based reagents are commonly used to label amino groups on biological macromolecules, while maleimides are frequently employed to modify thiol groups.
Li Ji Bio offers Cyanine 3 Maleimide in the form of triethylammonium salts. Under identical optical properties and reactivity, it exhibits superior solubility compared to cyanine 3 Maleimide supplied by other companies in its potassium salt form.
Cyanine 3 maleimide exhibits broad-spectrum optical properties similar to those of Cy3 maleimide, Alexa Fluor 546, and DyLight 549, and can serve as a viable alternative.
