Product Description
Cyanine3 NHS SE is an active dye for labeling the amino groups of biomolecules; it is analogous to the Cy3® NHS ester and is commonly used in fluorescent imaging of biomolecules and other fluorescence‑based biochemical assays. This dye can label soluble proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, and DNA. For more sensitive proteins, the water‑soluble Sulfo‑Cyanine3 NHS ester may be preferred, as it requires no co‑solvents.
Upon conjugation with biomolecules, Cyanine 3 exhibits enhanced fluorescence. The NHS ester (N-hydroxysuccinimide ester) is commonly used to label amino groups on biological macromolecules, while maleimide is frequently employed to modify thiol groups.
Li Ji Bio offers Cyanine 3 NHS ester in the form of triethylammonium salts. Under identical optical properties and reactivity, it exhibits superior solubility compared to the potassium‑salt–based Cyanine 3 NHS esters offered by other suppliers.
Cyanine 3 NHS ester (succinimidyl ester) exhibits broad spectral properties similar to those of Cy3® NHS ester, Alexa Fluor 546, and DyLight 549, and can serve as a suitable alternative.
