Product Description
Various cyanine 7 dyes are employed for biomolecular labeling, fluorescence imaging, and other fluorescent bioanalytical applications. They are widely used to label peptides, proteins, nucleotides, and more. Cyanine 7 (Cy7) is the most commonly used near-infrared fluorescent dye and is frequently utilized in small-animal in vivo imaging because it avoids the visible-light region, where many biological substances exhibit strong absorption. Near-infrared light, by contrast, penetrates biological tissues more deeply, and the emitted fluorescence is less affected by background autofluorescence, enabling signal detection even in deep tissues. In particular, within the 700–900 nm wavelength range, both water and hemoglobin exhibit minimal absorption, allowing near-infrared light to penetrate up to 15 cm into tissue. Moreover, these dyes offer a level of biosafety that cannot be achieved with UV‑absorbing dyes or isotopic labels.
Cyanine 7 maleimide exhibits strong hydrophobicity and requires a cosolvent. The cyanine 7 maleimide supplied by Li Ji Bio is in the form of a triethylammonium salt, which, compared to the potassium‑salt–based cyanine 7 maleimide offered by other manufacturers, provides superior solubility while maintaining identical optical properties and reactivity.
