Product Description
Cyanine 7 (Cy7) is the most widely used near-infrared fluorescent dye, frequently employed in in vivo imaging of small animals. This is because it avoids the visible-light region, where many biological molecules exhibit strong absorption, while its near-infrared absorption allows for deeper penetration into tissues. Moreover, the fluorescence it emits is less susceptible to background interference from tissue autofluorescence, enabling signal generation even in deep tissues. In particular, within the 700–900 nm wavelength range, both water and hemoglobin exhibit minimal absorption, allowing near-infrared light to penetrate up to 15 cm into tissue. Additionally, these dyes offer a level of biosafety that cannot be achieved with UV‑excited dyes or isotopic labels.
Cyanine 7 Hydrazide is highly hydrophobic and requires a cosolvent. The Cyanine 7 Hydrazide supplied by Li Ji Bio is in the triethylammonium salt form, which, compared with the potassium‑salt–based Cyanine 7 Hydrazide offered by other manufacturers, exhibits superior solubility while maintaining identical optical properties and reactivity.
