Product Description
Various Cyanine 7 dyes are employed for biomolecule labeling, fluorescence imaging, and other fluorescent bioanalytical applications. They are widely used to label peptides, proteins, nucleotides, and more. Cyanine 7 (Cy7) is the most commonly used near-infrared fluorescent dye and is frequently utilized in small-animal in vivo imaging because it avoids the visible-light absorption bands of many biological substances. Near-infrared light exhibits greater tissue penetration, while the emitted fluorescence is less affected by background autofluorescence, enabling signal generation deep within tissues. In particular, within the 700–900 nm wavelength range, water and hemoglobin show minimal absorption, allowing near-infrared light to penetrate up to 15 cm into tissue. Moreover, these dyes offer a level of biosafety that cannot be achieved with UV‑absorbing dyes or isotopic labels.
Cyanine 7 NHS ester is highly hydrophobic and requires a cosolvent. The Cyanine 7 NHS ester supplied by Li Ji Bio is in the triethylammonium salt form, which—unlike the potassium‑salt–based versions offered by other manufacturers—provides superior solubility while maintaining identical optical properties and reactivity.
