Product Description
The trypan blue exclusion assay kit for assessing cell viability is based on the principle that healthy, intact cells exclude trypan blue, whereas cells with compromised plasma membranes become stained. Strictly speaking, the trypan blue assay measures plasma membrane integrity; loss of membrane integrity is generally taken as an indicator of cell death. Following trypan blue staining, cell viability can be quantified with high precision either by direct counting under a microscope or by counting stained cells from microscopic images. The assay requires only 3–5 minutes and is extremely easy to perform.
