    DPBS, short for Dulbecco’s Phosphate-Buffered Saline, is one of the commonly used balanced salt solutions in biochemical research. Its main components include NaCl, KCl, KH2PO4, and Na2HPO4. Depending on whether it contains calcium and magnesium ions, DPBS is classified into two types. Unlike conventional PBS, DPBS has a slightly lower phosphate concentration, making it more closely resemble physiological fluid levels. DPBS is primarily employed in embryological studies, often serving as a washing solution, cryopreservation medium, or culture medium for embryos. Additionally, glucose, sodium pyruvate, and other additives can be incorporated into DPBS to further promote cell growth.
