    D-Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution is a calcium- and magnesium-free version of Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution (Dulbecco’s Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution, HBSS). It is one of the most commonly used phosphate-buffered solutions for cell dissociation or culture, with major components including NaCl, KCl, KH… 2 PO 4 , Na 2 HPO 4 , NaHCO 3 and glucose. D-Hank’s balanced salt solution is commonly used for washing cells prior to passaging or tissue dissociation, for preparing cell dissociation solutions, for transporting cells or tissues, and as a diluent for cell counting, among other applications.
