Product Description
Kanamycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces kanamyceticus. In molecular biology, kanamycin is commonly used as an inhibitor of bacterial protein synthesis to select for clones harboring the kanamycin resistance gene. Clinically, it is employed to treat infections caused by various bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
This product is prepared by dissolving kanamycin sulfate in deionized water, followed by sterile filtration. The working concentration for relaxed‑type plasmids is 50 μg/mL.
