Product Description
Nystatin, also known as nystine, is a/an Streptomyces noursei The polyene antifungal antibiotic produced is the first antifungal antibiotic ever discovered, with a CAS number of 1400-61-9 and a molecular weight of 926.09 g/mol. Nystatin possesses a conjugated polyene macrocyclic lactone structure, similar to that of amphotericin B, and can inhibit the growth of fungi and dermatophytes, while having no inhibitory effect on bacteria.
This product is prepared by dissolving nystatin in alcohol; if necessary, it should be filtered through an organic membrane filter before use in cell culture.
