Product Description
T84 (Chinese name: human colon adenocarcinoma lung metastasis cells) is a transplantable human cancer cell line established from a pulmonary metastatic lesion of a 72-year-old male patient with colon cancer. Tumor tissue was subcutaneously implanted into BALB/c nude mice, and serial passaging was performed. During transplantation in nude mice, the cell line consistently maintained the original histological characteristics of colon cancer. After 23 passages in athymic mice, the T84 cell line was established. These cells grow as a monolayer until confluence and exhibit tight junctions and desmosomes between adjacent cells. There are numerous receptors for peptide hormones and neurotransmitters that regulate directional electrolyte transport. Keratin immunoperoxidase staining was positive.
The cells exhibit a typical epithelioid, polygonal morphology and grow adherently. Species: Human; Tissue source: Metastatic lung tissue.
