DNA bands stained with GelGreen exhibit green fluorescence under blue‑light transillumination. This novel dye is impermeable to cell membranes, exhibits extremely strong binding to double‑stranded DNA, has low mutagenic potential, high thermal stability, and does not inhibit commonly used molecular‑biology enzymes, while also offering a broad range of applications.

This product is suitable for staining dsDNA, ssDNA, and RNA in agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.

    Product Advantages

    1. Safe and non-toxic: It uses anthocyanins (a hydrophobic macromolecule with a molecular weight of 1,400) as the raw material; these cannot penetrate cell membranes and have a molecular weight far exceeding that of EB, which is 690.

    2. Stable performance; can be stored at room temperature for up to 99 months. When staining, there is no need to wait for the agarose gel to cool—simply add the stain directly.

    3. Excellent light resistance; can be directly observed using a visible-light gel imaging system.

    4. High sensitivity; performance can fully replace EB.

    Precautions

    1. This product is intended solely for scientific research and must not be used for clinical diagnosis, treatment, or any other purposes.

    2. During the standard alcohol precipitation of nucleic acids, GelGreen can be completely removed from double-stranded DNA.

    3. If you wish to perform Southern blotting on gels stained with GelGreen, it is recommended to add 0.1%–0.3% SDS to both the pre-hybridization and hybridization buffers.

    4. To avoid the interference of dyes on nucleic acid migration, staining by the soak‑in method is recommended.

    5. GelGreen exhibits a certain affinity for glass and non‑polypropylene materials. It is recommended to use polypropylene containers during dilution, storage, staining, and other procedures.

    6. Store GelGreen stock solution at room temperature; if refrigerated, some precipitation may occur. Before use, gently heat and shake well to ensure proper performance.

    7. If you consistently observe smearing or poor band resolution, we recommend using a soak‑in staining method to determine whether the issue is related to the dye. If the problem persists after staining, it indicates that the dye is not the cause; in this case, try reducing the agarose concentration, extending the gel‑casting time to ensure sharp edges, improving your sample‑loading technique, or switching to a soak‑in staining protocol.

This product is intended solely for scientific research and must not be used for clinical diagnosis, treatment, or any other purposes.
